NBL Legend Wayne McDaniel Returns to The Rec Club for an Unforgettable Holiday Camp!

The July School Holidays were action-packed at The Rec Club Caringbah, and one event stole the spotlight — the Wayne McDaniel Basketball Camp!

Held over two high-energy days, the camp welcomed young ballers from across the Sutherland Shire and beyond for a unique chance to train with one of Australia’s most respected basketball figures. Wayne McDaniel, a former NBL superstar and NBA-level talent, brought his signature energy, wisdom, and charisma to the courts — and the kids loved every second of it.

What Went Down:

• 🏀 Skills & Drills: Players were taken through elite-level training routines that focused on shooting, footwork, defence, and decision-making. Wayne’s ability to break down high-level concepts made learning fun and accessible for all levels.

• 💡 Game IQ & Motivation: Wayne didn’t just teach basketball — he inspired. His sessions on mindset, work ethic, and self-belief had the kids sitting up and paying attention.

• 🤝 Connection & Community: One of the most powerful moments came during Q&A sessions, where Wayne shared stories from his career and connected personally with each group. His passion for growing the game at a grassroots level really hit home.
