Are you sick of heading down to the Don Lucas Reserve basketball courts in Cronulla only to find, It's either rainy & wet or there is hundred people trying to get their Patty Mills on? We have heard the complaints and seen the petitions to build more courts in the Shire and we have responded! The Rec Club has commenced construction on our own half court basketball court. Finally the Shire has a new house of hoops!
You will be able to hire a court and get some shots up, or join one of our pick up games & scrimmages we have planned for the not too distant future.
We will have ball racks for those who want to make some quick fire shots. We will have the perfect spot for you to work on your game. I can hear the swish sounds from here!
So here is where we are at;
STAGE 1 - CONCEPTION First stage of the construction process is the design concept ( Pictured above) and art work (Pictured Below). The street art is now been painted on our walls courtesy of REUBZZ. We couldn't be happier with the result, Reubezz absolutely nailed the brief for our "Goat Wall"
We are a multi sport venue, hence the non-basketball Goats we have enshrined.
STAGE 2 - CONSTRUCTION Construction will commence in early May 2022 and we are hopeful that we will be getting shots up at some stage in early May. So stay tuned to this page or get in touch if you want to get involved.
BASKETBALL FOR ADULTS IN THE SHIRE
While we are a bit restricted with the size of the court & the walls, we still would like to play some scrimmages and 3x3s on the court. You can also a hire a pro to help you work on your game, we have a number of Coaches on our books who can fit the bill.

HIRE AN INDOOR COURT Finding a basketball court to hire casually in this City is like trying to find a Dodo bird. We are ready for you to come and hire anytime. Weekends are restricted due to inflatable world being open 10am to 3:30pm (At time of writing), but outside those hours and during the week, you will be able to find a space for you or your team.
Regular hirers can get a bit of a discount on our advertised rates, so hit us up here if you want to make it a more regular thing.

JUNIOR BASKETBALL IN THE SUTHERLAND SHIRE This space is perfect for Junior training. Our ring goes down at 8 foot, so the little ones can practice their form correctly. We have a bunch of junior programs at the Rec, including our Learn to play & academy programs.
